Security Engineer/ Navy Qualified Validator II

Description

The right candidate will plan, execute, and document risk assessments against known vulnerabilities based upon security approaches and known hacker techniques and exploits. They will identify and perform security analysis of connectivity relationships between the subject US Naval warfare system and the equipment to which it interfaces, both physically and virtually. Must be able to perform Validation of Navy A&A packages.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute cybersecurity testing
  • Author and revise system requirements and specifications to meet DoD security policies
  • Perform vulnerability analysis of DoD systems and identify, report, and resolve security violations. Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and other DoD cybersecurity tools
  • Document a system from an IA perspective
  • Develop a Security Assessment Plan (SAP)
  • Develop Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation artifact documentation to include Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), Mitigation Strategies, Risk Assessment Report (RAR), and Security Assessment Report


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Minimum IAT Level III/IAM Level II
  • Minimum Navy Qualified Validator Level II
  • In-depth understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD Information Assurance policies
  • Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations
