POSITION: Network Infrastructure Support Engineer

LOCATION: Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, CA

STATUS: Contingent Award

CLEARANCE: Candidate must possess an active U.S Government SECRET Clearance

TRAVEL: Up to 25%


DESCRIPTION: Candidate will be providing Network Infrastructure Support to Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, and Intelligence (C5I) / Cyber Readiness Program Mission and Infrastructure Support Services to Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific (CNSP) N6 Department Staff and Divisions. Specific duties are listed below.


  • Perform tracking and administration for CNSP and its claimant including Information Technology (IT)/Local Area Network (LAN) assets and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)-owned printers. 
  • Ensure command assets meet all cyber security and classification requirements, including proper storage, handling, inventory, disposal, clearing, sanitizing, and destruction as described below:

o    Complete any required documentation for asset storage and disposal, including, but not limited to, DD-1149, DD-1348, Letters of Transmittal, and Classified Material Conversion (CMC) forms. 

o    Prepare devices e.g. removing hard drives, storage devices,  and other hardware components to prepare them for destruction, and forms to perform disposal via the Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO), base recycling, and National Security Agency (NSA) CMC requirements. 

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for command asset (e.g. computers, monitors, keyboards, etc.) functions and processes. 
  • Collect data resulting from data calls regarding CNSP assets for both afloat and ashore.  Provide technical assistance for afloat and ashore personnel in asset and peripheral inventory requirements and tracking. 
  • Perform purchase and/or financial data calls in order to prepare Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submittals or other costing requirements.
  • Provide SME support for CNSP asset troubleshooting, trouble ticket submittal, and coordination.  Develop and submit Move, Add, and Change (MAC) requests through NMCI/NGEN website to ensure availability of command assets.
  • Coordinate with various account holder approval authorities to ensure account access and asset availability. 
  • Provide SME and technical assistance regarding fielded assets to CNSP claimants. 
  • Provide upgrade tracking and coordination of command assets. 
  • Support drop and asset order requests for CNSP. 
  • Support any Information Technology Purchase Request (ITPR) submittals to ensure command assets meet compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with various account holder authorities to obtain command assets, including LAN equipment, printers, and peripherals.
  • Develop and maintain inventory for command assets, peripherals, software, and other IT assets.  Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inventories of these assets to ensure thorough coverage of CNSP headquarters and subordinate commands.
  • Develop and maintain a database to track the receipt, processing, and completion status of System Access and Authorization Request (SAAR) forms for accounts created for CNSP staff and supported personnel.
  • Perform Common Access Card (CAC)/Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Local Registration Authority (LRA) services for CNSP staff and supported personnel, to include the creation, revocation, suspension, and issuance of SIPRNET network tokens, and associated PKI credentialing for daily operations.
  • Develop and maintain a database to track the receipt, processing, and completion status of SIPRNET tokens for accounts created for CNSP staff and supported personnel.


Required Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, planning, communication, and time management skills; the ability to multi-task and work against strict deadlines is critical.
  • Strict attention to detail – must be detail-oriented.
  • Availability and willingness to lift materials up to 50 lbs., and perform squatting, kneeling, and extended standing.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, up to 25%.
  • Must possess and maintain IAT Level 2 (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE)
  • Must possess and maintain an active U.S Government SECRET Clearance
