POSITION: Systems Engineer Sr

LOCATION:  Stafford, Virginia

STATUS: Contingent on Contract Award

CLEARANCE: Active Secret Clearance Required

TRAVEL: Less than 10%

 

DESCRIPTION: 

 

The Systems Engineer provides engineering support to the LI2S PMO in all aspects of the design concept and methodologies, functional and organizational structure, and development. The Systems Engineer will perform all aspects of technical analysis and systems engineering support to facilitate the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of a material solution.

 

As a Sr. Systems Engineer, you will:

·       Support the Assistant Program Manager - Engineering (APM-E) in the planning, monitoring, and controlling of engineering development and sustainment activities, tracking development progress, identifying risks and

·       recommending mitigation plans.

·       Provide expert advice and recommendations during the development of internal engineering policy and guidance about executing the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) a process within an Agile framework.

·       Participate in change control boards, support development of architectural frameworks, develop and maintain engineering processes as required, and participate in technical Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and associated working groups. Provide technical recommendations in response to assigned tasks.

·       Oversees engineering activities of an organization's information systems.

·       Plans, designs, develops, evaluates, tests, and integrates an organization's systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software.

·       Provide technical knowledge to support the Information Technology Service Management Lifecycle

·       Provide systems engineering expertise to government customers in support of the acquisition of major automated information systems

·       Provide leadership to and management of a large and diverse team in support of the acquisition of major automated information systems

·       Provide support to the preparation and evaluation of technical documents, papers, studies, analysis, and briefings in support of the acquisition of major automated information systems

·       Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing different phases of information system acquisition with knowledge of and experience in systems engineering activities and policies and procedures

·       Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the requirements of the Department of Defense 5000 series

·       Demonstrated ability to work with large and diverse teams and the ability to provide guidance and direction in systems engineering effectively (and related activities such as systems integration) and major system acquisitions

 

Required Skills / Qualifications

·       Minimum of 2 years of experience working on military automated information systems

·       Minimum of 2 years of implementation leveraging information technology infrastructure management, information technology service management (ITSM) forum or institute of electrical and electronics engineers standards or equivalent experience

·       Demonstrated experience with a minimum of 2 major lifecycle changes (technical upgrade or refresh) for an automated information system and related information technology infrastructure

·       BS degree in Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems from an accredited college or university

·       12+ years of related professional work experience
