DESCRIPTION:
The Logistician will oversee activities including purchasing, shipping and transportation, inventory, warehousing, and delivery. You will direct the movement of a range of goods, people, and supplies. The Logistician should be able to use sophisticated software systems to plan and track the movement of goods. The ideal candidate will be available to operate software programs tailored to manage logistical functions, such as procurement, inventory management, and other supply chain planning and management systems in a high paced and dynamic environment
As the Logistician, you will:
• Support the Government customer in the planning, coordinating and execution of numerous program logistics efforts for legacy and future systems, as well as technical refreshes/upgrades.
• Preparation and review of correspondence, documents, and reports.
• Research and respond to issues from the acquisition community and the operating forces.
• Develop logistics analyses and documents (life cycle sustainment plans, fielding plans, etc.); ensure all logistics support documentation is prepared in accordance with current Marine Corps, Navy, and DOD directives and policies.
• Develop and implement ILS support, (maintenance planning; research and draft strategies for Supportability supply support, test and support equipment; perform expert level reviews and analysis of logistics products)
• Review logistics tasks and prepare response recommendation based on USMC impact analysis
• Implement fielding and sustainment.
• Develop and monitor spares programs.
• Report metrics monthly
• Draft and prepare for Independent Logistics Assessments (ILAs).
• Access and populate data into USMC and MHTV databases.
• Monitor and report discrepancies found in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) inventories, Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) inventories, and Government Furnished Property (GFP) inventories.
• Maintain and update the Total Force Structure Management System (TFSMS).
• Maintain and update the Technical Manuals, Supply Instructions, and Modification Instructions.
• Analyze and report on Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages and reliability, availability and maintainability approaches, address potential and existing obsolescence issues.
Required Skills / Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years of progressive related experience
• Familiar with industry/military established principles and practices of logistics management
• Knowledge of DoD Acquisition and Life-Cycle Management policies and procedures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including usage of SharePoint, Microsoft Project experience highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
• Desire candidates with military experience, preferably USMC and with vehicle platform experience
• Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Visio
• Excellent writing and communication skills and strong verbal and interpersonal skills as daily interaction with government customers will be required
