LOCATION: Facilities Systems Branch (FSB), Marine Corps Information Technology Center (MCITC) – Kansas City 2306 East Bannister Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131
STATUS: Contingent on Contract Award
CLEARANCE: Active Secret Clearance Required
Position Summary:
The FSB Mid Software Developer will work in a team-based development environment building state-of-the-art web applications and will be involved in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting those systems, as well as mentoring and training junior team members.
Responsibilities:
· Design and develop code using object orientated principles and design standards.
· Object orientated software development for the overall development domain including: languages, frameworks, and design patterns.
· SQL and RDBMS systems.
· Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies in order to provide recommendations for future technology strategies.
· Support production by leading efforts to troubleshoot production issues.
Experience:
· 5+ Years’ Experience Developing in C#
· ASP.NET Development -- Experience with .NET 4.0/4.5
· MVC Experience
· JavaScript and CSS
· IIS 7+
· MS SQL Server 2008+
Desired Experience:
· ORM’s (Entity Framework)
· TSQL
· JavaScript Libraries
o Bootstrap
o AJAX
o JQuery
- Good eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, color theory and typography.
- Good design skills.
- Understanding of the limitations of web and mobile, with approaches/ideas to flex those boundaries.
- Developing best-in-class consumer experiences (user interface designs, interaction models, prototypes, etc.) in a fast-paced, agile, start-up-like environment.
- Must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment.
- Should be self-driven with basic guidance.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study plus (6) years of experience
- DoD Secret Clearance
- US Citizenship
- 3-5 years of experience using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and REST API.
- Strong understanding of client-side scripting.
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
- Experience with Web performance optimization methods
- Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
- Understanding of User Interface Design and the Design Process.
- Understand recent UI design and development standards and trends.
- Excellent time-management and multi-tasking.
- Capable of juggling multiple projects and related complexities at the same time.
- Capable of mentoring junior team members.
- Collaborate actively with others in a cross-functional team.
