POSITION: Junior Middleware Administrator / Engineer (Web/Application)
LOCATION: Facilities Systems Branch (FSB), Marine Corps Information Technology Center (MCITC) – Kansas City 2306 East Bannister Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131
STATUS: Contingent on Contract Award
CLEARANCE: Active Secret Clearance Required
Position Summary:
The FSB Junior Middleware Administrator is responsible for support, management, and optimization of Middleware Systems with oversight and guidance from FSB Middleware Administrators / Engineers for respective Middleware Systems and Technologies, to include but not limited to IBM WebSphere, IIS, Apache, and other COTS and GOTS software solutions.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
· Implement best practices for systems over which this position has been designated responsible, following guidance provided by FSB Middleware Administrators and Engineers.
· Provides reporting for systems over which this position has been designated responsible.
· Performs initial troubleshooting and routine support for FSB Middleware Systems.
· Carries out defined tasks as established by FSB Middleware Administrators and Engineers.
· Software and systems support in analyzing, troubleshooting, testing and making recommendations related to systems environment.
Experience:
· At
the Junior Middleware Administrator level, required experience for the position
are: relevant education, training, or professional experience with the
requisite Middleware Systems or Technologies utilized by FSB.
· Middleware Systems and Technologies utilized by FSB:
o Internet Information Services (IIS)
o Apache
o IBM WebSphere
o Operating Systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Windows Server)
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study plus (4) years of experience.
- Familiarity of Linux or Unix/AIX.
- Experience with Middleware support (MQ Series, IBM BPM, Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS, IIS, WebSphere, Weblogic,etc.)
- DoD Secret Clearance
- US Citizenship
