POSITION: Senior Database Administrator
LOCATION: Dahlgren, VA
STATUS: Contingent
CLEARANCE: SSBI Secret Clearance / Ability to upgrade Top Secret
Position Summary:
Will work with IT teams: Reporting, Pricing and Analytics, and IT Infrastructure to develop an understanding of data and information needs, identify solutions and improve the quality of service while providing support through the logical and physical design of databases.
Responsibilities:
• Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
• Develop processes for optimizing database security.
• Set and maintain database standards.
• Manage database access.
• Performance tuning of database systems.
• Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
• Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Create automation for repeating database tasks.
• Be available for on-call support as needed.
Experience:
Ten (10) or more years of experience in the areas
• Database administration, design, development, extraction, transformation, and loading of data.
Experience with a minimum of two (2)
• Enterprise level databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, ArcSDE).
• Experience in software configuration management and experience developing software documentation such as the Database Design Document and Interface Control Document.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• SSBI Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS
• DoD 8140 Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I certification or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
• Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus
