POSITION: Elastic Stack Architect

LOCATION: Remote / Laurel, MD

STATUS: Fully Funded

CLEARANCE: Active Secret Clearance Preferred / Ability to Obtain Required


Job Duties (Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:

The Elastic Stack architect will design, develop, and deploy a single pane of glass monitoring solution and a Security information and event management (SIEM) log solution using the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana). The ELK architect plans, designs, codes, tests, builds, and deploys new capabilities to support DISA Command and Control system modernization including but not limited to:

   Estimating features and user stories

   Participating in developing sprint roadmaps

   Analyzing user stories

   Developing design and architecture elements to support user story and / or feature development

   Participate in design reviews

   Develop mockups and wireframes

   Develop code using test driven development approach

   Perform and automate tests

   Work in DevSecOps environment with automated CI/CD pipelines

   Conduct peer reviews and code reviews

Requirements:

Master’s degree in related discipline plus two (2) years of experience; or Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus eight (8) years of related experience; or twelve (12) to fifteen (15) years of experience:

Experience as a Solution Architect, Business Architect, or similar technical role

·  Experience designing, developing, and deploying DoD monitoring solutions using the ELK stack, including, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Prometheus and Grafana.

·  Experience with containers orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

·  Strong documentation skills with a proven ability to develop Functional Specifications and/or BRD is a MUST.

·  Highly autonomous, self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working within a dynamic environment.

·  Solutions oriented with proven success in a fast-paced environment, even keeled under pressure.

·  Experience working with Agile tools such as Jira / Confluence etc.

Preferred Skills:

  Elastic Certified Engineer

  Experience performing database development and administration for DoD / DISA systems in classified environments

  Experience working with DISA management, system administrators, network team/CCC, and service desk to coordinate necessary changes to systems.
