DESCRIPTION:
The Lead Logistician oversees a team of logisticians who provide support to the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Program Manager, Light Tactical Vehicle. In addition to managing the team, the Lead Logistician leads and directs integrated logistics support (ILS) activities designed to provide effective and efficient life cycle support of systems and equipment. This position analyzes and coordinates the logistical functions for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery and final disposal of resources. The ideal candidate should be familiar with industry/military established principles and practices of logistics management.
As the Lead Logistician, you will:
· Draft, review, and staff life cycle logistics documentation (e.g. Life Cycle Sustainment Plan and Fielding Plan) in accordance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Navy (DoN), and United States Marine Corps (USMC) policies and guidelines
· Prepare and conduct Independent Logistics Assessments (ILAs) in accordance with the ILA Handbook
· Recommend ILS element planning and progress to ensure compliance with program requirements, specifications, and standards
· Analyze models and optimized distribution networks using advanced logistics software for location of sites, allocation of resources, inventory placement, and size, selection of transportation mode, freight consolidation, and closed loop tours
· Determine proper logistics support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from location of operation area and other factors such as environmental and human factors
· Direct the activities of more junior Logistics Analysts or other staff as necessary on activities related to the application of analytical techniques and methodologies
· Demonstrate managerial and supervisory skills
Required Skills / Qualifications
· 10+ years of related progressive professional work experience in Life-Cycle Logistics planning and management with a minimum of 8 years of experience in at least two directly related 16 technological areas, including experience in all phases of logistics acquisition and logistics planning
· BA/BS Business, Engineering, Management, Sciences, Information Systems, or other related disciplines
· Experience leading high functioning logistics teams in a dynamic, fast paced environment
· Knowledge of DoD Acquisition and Life-cycle Management policies and procedures
· Experience with Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) Trailer, High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) Legacy Fleet Sustainment, Utility Task Vehicle (UTV), Ultra-Light Tactical Vehicle (ULTV) and Light Tactical Trailers (LTT) Sustainment is highly desired
· Experience with using Total Life Cycle Management - Operational Support Tool (TCM-OST).
