Position: Information Systems Training Specialist (Afloat C41 and Cyber Readiness Support)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Information Systems Training Specialist shall provide support to the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, and Intelligence (C5I) / Cyber Readiness Program Mission in Support of Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific (CNSP) N6 Department Staff and Divisions to enhance warfighting readiness and increase the C5I proficiency of the Surface Force, CONUS, and OCONUS. The mission of CNSP is to Man, Train, and Equip the Surface Force to provide Fleet Commanders with credible naval power to control the sea and project power ashore. The candidate must have the ability to take on diverse training for ships IT workforce and experience with Afloat Platforms and Fleet Communications Systems with missions including Cybersecurity hygiene, Shipboard Cyber hardening, and Cyber Defense Training.

Specific Tasks

·   Provide meeting support, document meeting minutes and prepare any necessary visual aids to support meeting requirements for teleconferences, VTCs, internal and external meetings

·   Assist the CNSP MIL/CIV lead to develop TYCOM instructions, data calls, requests for information, and multimedia presentations for C4I/cybersecurity initiatives and requirements

·   Provide subject matter expertise to briefs, training events, and waterfront symposiums

·   Assist in the daily monitoring of readiness of C4I issues and provide findings to the C4I Officer

·   Assess policy changes for impact to Fleet stakeholders and provide feedback

·   Perform baseline compliance support to include tracking of C4I Mandatory Security Updates (MSUs), TASKORDs, FRAGORDs, OPORDS, Fleet Advisory Messages (FAMs), and other directives and issuances to track requirements

·   Support data calls on ship or Program of Record (POR) compliance metrics and coordinate with fielded PORs to ensure that required system documentation, training documentation, online tools, and resources reflect current operational requirements

·   Develop training materials using Government-provided format to support onboard and off-ship training events, and ensure compliance with NAVEDTRA 130 series

·   Conduct training events or provide ancillary support as required

·   Provide trend analysis on C4I and cyber-related CASREPs and trouble tickets to provide tailored training in support of cybersecurity mission requirements and present findings in Government-approved format for distribution via formal Naval messages, multimedia presentations, or other approved means as directed

·   Develop C4I/Cyber metrics to reflect trends and readiness metrics against POR installation status, requirements, and directives to support leadership requirements and process improvement

·   Review Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) data to obtain trend information on Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) notices that frequent monthly reports and provide information to C4I Officer to facilitate discussions with PORs

·   Ability to work within a team environment and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

 

Experience

·   3+ years shipboard experience

·   Familiarity with Navy C4I systems and software to include: COMPOSE 3.X, 4.X, ADNS, HBSS, GCCS, DMS, NIAPS, NTCSS, Navy Cash, RAPIDS, ARRS, NSIPS, Sailor, CANES Shipboard Computing Environment, Operation Rolling Tide (ORT), and TYCOM SHIPS platforms

·   Familiarity with System Administration for CMPro, eMASS, ACAS, Retina, WSUS, VRAM, and have experience in re-engineering and manual IAVM risk analysis for other Navy networks

Education

·   Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology / Security, or equivalent 3+ years shipboard experience

·   Security+ Certification (DoD 8140/8570 IAM/IAT Level II equivalency)

·   ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED
