The Cyber System Security Engineer will provide support to the Joint Staff J6 mission in the Deputy Directorate for Command, Control, Communications, and Computers/Cyber (DD C4 Cyber) in the following three functional task areas: Cyberspace Forces and Strategic Planning, Cyberspace Capabilities Development, and Cybersecurity and Cyber Defenses. This position will assist by leveraging innovative cutting edge and proven technology to streamline information-flow, improving business processes, and improving cyber defense capabilities. An Active Top Secret.

 

Required Skills / Qualifications

·        Responsible for coordinating the design and implementation of information systems

·        Analyze various policies and regulations pertaining to enterprise systems

·        Develop, converge and consolidate requirements, and provide sound advice on transition and implementation

·        Possess a broad understanding of software and hardware design (i.e. major concepts such as hyper-convergence, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence)

·        Ensure enterprise systems leverage concepts of standards for open systems architectures, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models, and profiles of standards - such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model - as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management (IM) solution of the application the platform, across the application program interface (API), and the external environment/software application

·        Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action

·        Required - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Programming, or similar subject matter relevant to Information Technology and/or Cybersecurity

  • Required - a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Information Technology and/or Cybersecurity career fields.
  • Required – ITIL Intermediate certification
  • Required – IAM Level III per the DoDI 8570.01M
  • Desired - JCIDS experience / DAU training
