Cyber Trainer/Analyst
DESCRIPTION
Provides support in a wide
variety of duties associated with development, installation, configuration,
testing and operational deployment of Technical/Engineering and Training environments to include
technical drawings, system specifications, system maintenance, system security
requirements, standard operating procedures and Training System Life Cycle
Management functions for U.S. Naval Forces Cyber Readiness Inspections. The candidate must have the ability to take
on diverse training for ships IT workforce, and experience with afloat
platforms with missions including; Cybersecurity hygiene, Shipboard Cyber
hardening, and Cyber Defense Training Cloud.
Candidate must possess a strong ability to work in a team environment
and communicate orally and in writing.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
All personnel must have an active Secret Security clearance.
MANDATORY MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS
· DoD Final Secret Security Clearance
· Current Security+ certification
· Valid US Passport
· Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security, or equivalent 3+ years shipboard experience
ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the audit and assessment,
engineering, development and implementation of ship and shore unit level
Information Assurance (IA) / Cyber readiness and inspections, as well as training
programs, to ensure that fielded technical training tools, software, equipment
and system specific configuration training packages meet the level required to
fully satisfy the DoD and DON policy and guidance.
· Conduct unit level Training Assist Visits (TAV) on afloat units to assess site/system training program implementation and management, and provide classroom training to improve site/system cyber posture
· Provide technical analysis, integration, information assurance, and cybersecurity accreditation support services
· Support accreditation of systems and software management of CSICP, CCRI and INSURV Evaluation Criteria
· Support Navy C4I systems and software that include COMPOSE 3.X, 4.X, ADNS, HBSS, GCCS, DMS, NIAPS, NTCSS, Navy Cash, ARRS, NSIPS, Sailor, CANES Shipboard Computing Environment, Operation Rolling Tide (ORT), and TYCOM SHIPS platforms.
· Provide support in System Administratrion for CMPro, eMASS, ACAS, Retina, WSUS, VRAM, and have experience in re-engineering and manual IAVM risk analysis for networks that include:
o IA / Cyber Readiness Program Management
o Transitional Security Standards
o System Administration
o Platform virtualization and VLAN management Training
o Security patch bulk imports training
o Vulnerability Management and Reporting
o Cyber Security Workforce Management (CSWF)
o LPD San Antonio Class - Shipboard Wide Area Network (SWAN) Computing Environment
o LCS (FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE Classes) – ShipALT experience, installations and systems configurations environments
o HBSS to include SADR deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance
o ACAS / Retina Vulnerability Scanning Tools and Security Center
o DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) review and analysis on COMPOSE 3.x/4.x, CANES, GCCS, NIAPS, Navy Cash, ARRS, and NSIPS fielded Systems
Additional Desirable Training & Experience
· Experience evaluating IA controls and preparing DIACAP C&A artifacts including SIP, DIP, POA&M, Scorecards
· Knowledge of Risk Management Framework process
· Knowledge of Windows and Sun Solaris, and Cisco IOS operating systems
· Knowledge of Host Based Security System (HBSS) is highly desirable
· Strong understanding of IT security and the security features contained in today's mainstream IT technologies such as Windows 7/2008 R2, UNIX, Routers, Switches, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, VPN concentrators, etc.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for
extended periods of time. Position may
require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but
not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily
duties in a timely and efficient manner. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25
pounds. There is a possibility that due
to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long
distances may be required.
Work Environment
Generally an office environment, but can
involve boarding U.S. Navy ships and possibility of underway while involved in
SURFPAC mission assignments.
Considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim
lighting, tight passageways, shipboard ladders and physically demanding
environments in restrictive environments without handicap services available. Outside work may include various environmental
conditions including warm and cold climates. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers
and all levels of management. No hazards
on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site is located in government spaces at
Commander Naval Surface Forces Pacific, Bldg. 14, Naval Amphibious Base,
Coronado.
Attendance and Travel
Regular hours will be Monday-Friday 8:00 am –
5:00 pm. Regular attendance of scheduled
hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and
meetings. Punctuality and regular
attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to
adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements. You will be required to travel up to 12 weeks
per year. Travel will be within CONUS,
Hawaii and Far East Asia. A legal U.S.
Passport is a requirement. You must
register with The U.S. State Department Smart Traveler Enrollment Program
(STEP) https://step.state.gov/step/ to assist the U.S. Embassy in contacting
you in an emergency, whether natural disaster, civil unrest, or family
emergency.
Other Essential Functions
Must demonstrate professional behavior at all
times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate
communications skills, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be
appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or
others. Must maintain a positive work
atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office
or work site is required. Travel to and
from customer’s locations and the test fields may be required to support
projects. This may involve airline
travel. When operating any vehicle in
International Countries must maintain proper operating permits.
