The Systems Engineer will provide engineering support to the Program Manager, Applications Portfolio, PfM SES, Marine Corps Systems Command (Quantico, VA).

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

This position will be responsible for performing cloud assessments on legacy applications to determine if they are suitable to migrate to a cloud environment. The engineer will be a key member of the PM Applications cloud migration team, and will be responsible to collaborate closely with internal teams to include cloud architects, cloud environment build, and cybersecurity to develop the best approach for migrating and maintaining applications in a cost-effective, repeatable, secure, scalable, and maintainable way.

 

KEY DUTIES

 

Provide expertise and knowledge of the subject matter to analyze and solve complex problems and provide management and subject matter insight to teams performing assigned tasks

 

Conduct analysis of Technical Review Data Packages in support of all Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) including System Requirements Reviews, System Functional Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Program Readiness Reviews and Post-Implementation Reviews. 

 

Conduct analysis and the decomposition of requirements on Engineering Change Proposals in support of Engineering Review Boards.

 

Provide input and recommendations on technical matters, develop agendas, and briefing information in all Engineering IPTs and engineering Review Boards (ERB).

 

Represent the Engineering Competency at Integrated Product Team meeting on a weekly basis or as needed

 

Support the Lead Systems Engineer in reviewing and analyzing data provided by the Systems Integrator deliverables and provide recommended engineering process improvements for action at the project level.

 

Document, consolidate, and manage all requirements baseline capabilities for the assigned Managed Projects. 

 

Review and update Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) and Service Level Agreements (SLA).

 

Support the Lead Systems Engineer in coordinating responses for Engineering Marine Corps taskers.

 

PREFERRED

 

Experience in reviewing and analyzing legacy applications to determine suitability for migration to the cloud, and experience migrating application teams from data center to cloud.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and minimum of 7 years relevant experience, or MS degree and 5 years of relevant experience

5 years minimum experience in Systems Engineering with an understanding of the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) Process.

 

Experience in requirements development, analysis and decomposition.

 

Cost-benefit analysis experience to support decision making of alternative designs or architectures and risk assessment associated with an approach
