The Opportunity 


Mo money, mo problems - said no fundraising officer ever! We’re looking for a dynamic front-line fundraiser who is passionate about LiNK’s mission and will help drive significant revenue growth through managing a diverse US-based donor solicitation, cultivation and stewardship program focused on individual giving (average gift size between $5K-$15K), foundations, corporate giving, and events - the whole shebang. You’ll build a strong pipeline of mid-tier to major donor prospects and also spend time personally meeting with current and potential donors. You’ll report directly to the CEO and also collaborate closely with the Director of Major Gifts and our growth team to execute high quality events for donors and prospects and create meaningful strategies and experiences to steward those relationships. We want to make sure that our donors know how much they mean to us (the answer being a LOT) and how their incredible generosity is literally bringing us closer to the day when every North Korean man, woman and child is free.  



What You’ll Do

 

  • Oversee a portfolio of 100-150 mid-tier donors, foundations, corporate partners, and prospects 


  • Participate in each step of the donor pipeline including: identification, qualification through research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship


  • Grow your portfolio by identifying new donors, cultivating relationships,and by developing compelling, innovative and successful donor solicitation and upgrade strategies  


  • Work closely with the Director of Major Gifts to develop long-term strategies to cultivate donors and provide opportunities for deeper engagement


  • Effectively steward and appreciate/recognize existing donors in your portfolio


  • Prepare and administer department budget, projecting and achieving revenue goals 


  • Participate in planning and executing successful fundraising and stewardship events, including an annual gala 


  • Create innovative ways to show donors their return on investment and impact on LiNK’s mission 


  • Collect and utilize data to inform strategies for growth

  


What You’ll Need



  • A minimum of 3-5 years* professional fundraising, specifically experience working with individual donors 


  • Successful track record in securing five to six figure gifts from individual donors and foundations


  • Demonstrated knowledge and success in fundraising for individual gifts (experience working with foundations and/or corporate giving is a plus)


  • An effective communicator with high emotional intelligence


  • Knowledge of financial management to allocate resources, prepare budgets, analyze financial data and project fundraising income


  • Positive attitude and ability to inspire confidence within the team and with donors


  • Flexibility and ability to work effectively in a fast paced, start-up-like environment; requires excellent organizational skills, time management efficiency, and careful attention to detail


  • Experience with fundraising and research software. (Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus)


  • Willingness to travel frequently

We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience so please don’t hesitate to apply! For candidates with more experience we are open to hiring at the assistant director level, and for candidates with less experience, we’re open to hiring at the associate manager level as well. Salary and title will be dependent on experience.  




Location

We are open to both local and remote candidates. 

For local candidates: Our headquarters is in downtown Long Beach at 236 E 3rd St Ste 210, Long Beach, CA 90802. We have a hybrid work schedule where we go into the office once a week on Wednesdays.

For remote candidates: You may apply from any location within the States, with a preference for California, Chicago, or New York.
