Bi-Lingual Front Desk Representative and Parent Educator (Full Time)
Abide Women’s Health Services is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and bilingual Front Desk Representative and Parent Educator to join our team. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for community members seeking assistance and information. Additionally, they will be responsible for providing education and support to parents in Spanish speaking families/community members. The ideal candidate will speak both English and Spanish with proficiency, have excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for community service, and a strong commitment to improving the lives of families in need.
This position will work with other Abide educators and staff, and report directly to the VP of Clinical Services.
Key Responsibilities:
The following position responsibilities are essential functions of the position. Successful job applicants will be able to perform these essential functions with minimal supervision:
Front Desk:
● Welcome and greet clients and office guests
● Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area.
● Support office staff with non clinical task, as needed
● Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish to assist non-English speaking
community members.
● Assist clients with new client intake collecting client demographics, creating new client chart,
sending welcome email, and scheduling client’s first appointment, as requested by the client
● Assist clients with scheduling any subsequent pre/post partum care appointments as requested
by provider and/or client
● Responsible for accepting and keeping accurate record of any client donations/payment for
services rendered
● Assist clinical staff in providing accurate electronic clinical records by uploading any paper
documents, as needed
● Assist clinic staff in maintaining adequate office inventory and keeping the office
clean/organized
● Assist with restocking any office inventory, when necessary
● Attend team meetings (in person or virtual when approved) working as part of the
multidisciplinary team
● Report any known accidents and client complaints to VP of Clinical Services
Parent Educator:
● Assist in the development of bi-lingual curriculum, participating in a annual audit ofs to ensure they remain relevant to the communities needs.
● Conduct workshops,s, or individual sessions to educate parents on a range of topics such as child development, parenting skills, nutrition, and health.
● Collaborate with other professionals to develop educational materials and resources tailored to the needs of the community.
● Provide guidance and support to parents facing challenges or seeking advice regarding their children's well-being.
● Foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment where parents feel comfortable seeking education assistance and guidance.
● Collaborate with other Abide educators and parents to engage participants in the educations
● Assist in the development and implementation of parent education opportunities, leveraging, internal recourses and community partners. Solicit parent input on parent education offerings.
● Implement and support activities to ensure a strong connection for participants between learning and applying information learned to everyday life.
● Document any relevant information collected from interactions with parents in a confidential and secure manner.
● Assist in tracking and reporting program statistics, including the number of individuals served and outcomes achieved, following organizational guidelines.
Other Responsibilities:
● Commit to the training and processes adhered by the JJ WayTM in accordance with the Easy Access Clinic Model (EAC)
● When offered, to attend in house service training sessions to update skills and take responsibility for professional and personal development
● Establish good interpersonal relationships with clients, their families and colleagues in line with the “Dignity at Work” policy.
● Observe the welfare and safety of clients, colleagues and visitors in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).
● Be flexible in undertaking any other duties deemed appropriate by the VP of Clinical Services
Knowledge and Skills:
● Fluency in both English and Spanih, required.
● Strong administrative and organizational skills
● Demonstrated ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines
● Strong attention to detail
● Strong communication skills (oral and written)
● Fast, proficient, and accurate typist
● Experience with Google and Microsoft products and programs
● Experience using EMRs (Electronic Medical Records)

Education/Qualifications:
● Associate’s degree or higher in a Health and Human Services field or applicable field of study, along with two (1) or more years of direct service experience in a Health and Human Services Field, recommended.
● 1+ years of experience as an administrative assistant or secretary is a plus
● Current Certified Childbirth Educator or will obtain certification within 1 year of hire
● Experience in child development, early childhood education, social work or related field, preferred
● Cultural and linguistic competency appropriate to community to be served
● Current BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) Certification or will obtain
certification within 90 days of hire
● Current Cultural Awareness/Implicit Bias Training
