Community Outreach Coordinator Job Description
SUMMARY: Abide Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building, developing, and enhancing Abide relationships in the South Dallas community. The Community Outreach Coordinator will represent Abide at community meetings in South Dallas serving as a link between Abide and other South Dallas organizations, the affiliate for communications among South Dallas organizations, and maternal health resource sharing.
The ultimate goal of this role is to ensure that our organization’s work is known within the surrounding community, among residents and community organizations located in South Dallas. This position will work closely with our Client Resource Specialist, Executive Coordinator and report directly to the VP of Operations.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the planning and implementation of outreach activities to target the South Dallas community
Build relationships and aid Abide in partnering with South Dallas residents, agencies, and community stakeholders.
Regularly attend meetings relevant to serving in South Dallas, example community beautification, health and social service meetings, and resident meetings.
Build understanding of and support for Abide Women’s Health Services by collaborating with staff from other departments and update meetings.
Work to implement a database for contact information for South Dallas leaders, agencies, and organizations
Maintaining a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities
Serve as the liaison to other community groups identified by the Executive Director and/or work plan.
Work with other like-minded community groups to identify and prioritize community issues.
Develop strategies to engage community residents in maternal health-related issues.
Provide timely and accurate records and reports from community outreach efforts

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people and community organizations
Excellent project management skills and the ability to think strategically and programmatically
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Required)
-At least 1 year of experience working with community outreach and/or similar activities
-Experience in volunteering in South Dallas or with women’s health organizations
-Schedule flexibility; possible evening, early morning & weekend events.
(Preferred)
-Resident of South Dallas
-Experience as manager of volunteers or similar position
-Working knowledge of databases and MS Office, Google Docs/Sheets, etc.
This is a full-time position, with flex hours based on upcoming events and/or training, with a request of 32 hours per week.
