Keel Labs is looking for a talented and motivated lab technician to work in a dynamic start-up environment through supporting the lab team in material testing and data collection. Responsibilities:
Test materials per standard operating procedures
Responsible for routine set-up, maintenance, cleaning and running of equipment used to test and develop our proprietary textiles
Provide technical support to improve process efficiency and provide testing expertise
Comply with safety guidelines including maintaining up to date training, following SOPs, equipment maintenance, and proper documentation of lab notebooks and logbooks
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure proper resourcing and timeliness
Contribute to project meetings and planning sessions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Associates degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar discipline
At least 2 years of experience in a lab environment
Experience in material testing using industry standard methods such as ASTM, AATCC, and ISO
Mechanical aptitude and strong technical understanding
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and remain flexible and open-minded
Self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction
A focus on and dedication to milestone completion
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Professional, detail oriented, and excellent in time management
Efficient and effective communication skills across an interdisciplinary team
Ability to handle confidential business information
Learns quickly and has a head for problem solving
Supplementary:
Prior experience with the polymeric materials or textile and fiber testing: e.g. tensile tester, moisture analyzer, viscometer, etc.
