Keel Labs is looking for Laboratory Technicians with graduate level knowledge of either/or both polymer/material science and chemistry. Experience in organic/polymer synthesis, polymer modification and material characterization skills and/or knowledge in Textile science would be an advantage but not essential. This individual would ideally be a recent graduate who is willing to learn on the job and looking to gain industry experience in the fields of polymer science/organic synthesis and fiber technology..

Responsibilities:
Conduct organic chemistry experiments as instructed under the guidance of the senior staff members
Carryout routine laboratory tests on samples prepared
Compile and interpret chemical and instrument data and interpret results and make effective recommendations
Setup, operate, maintain laboratory instruments on a routine basis
Inspect, analyze, and troubleshoot instruments.
Reading repair manuals and liaising with other professionals.
Writing up reports, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance plans.
Overview supplier materials characterizations
Maintain lab safety at all times
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors in Chemistry, material science, polymer science or similar discipline. Individuals who expect to graduate in the near future are also encouraged to apply.
Both fundamental understanding of principles of Chemistry and basic chemical synthesis skills (in an undergraduate laboratory), are essential
Critical thinking, time management and problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn on the job and good problem solving skills
Basic understanding on safe handling of chemicals and their disposal to the environment
Capable of prioritizing tasks and directing efforts appropriately
Quick learner, independently adapts from trial and error
Ability to handle confidential business information
Efficient and effective communication skills across an interdisciplinary team
Team player with a positive attitude
Previous experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
