Keel Labs™ is looking for a motivated, creative, and collaborative individual to support research and development initiatives in a wet fiber and yarn spinning environment at our Morrisville office. With a focus on streamlining research, this individual will be aiding research and development teams by providing automated solutions to upgrade and improve equipment and processes, helping to establish new automated data collection methods, and easing maintenance of laboratory and production equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and improve automated solutions to current and future equipment workflows.

  • Select, install, and automate use of required metrology across various R&D projects.

  • Implement automated data collection for process dashboards and real time monitoring.

  • Work with external vendors to facilitate and streamline use of machine learning database tools.

  • Contribute to technical writing of processes and procedures.

  • Aid in maintenance of laboratory and small scale wet spinning production equipment.

  • Aid in prototyping for R&D equipment, testing fixtures, and inspection apparati.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering, from an ABET Accredited university preferred.

  • 2 - 5 years of experience, 0 - 2 years of experience with MS.

  • Demonstrated experience with PLC programming/ladder logic for automation and data collection.

  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Python, Minitab or equivalent data analytics software.

  • Prefers a balance between hands-on and desk work, doesn't mind a social workplace, and respects work-life balance for all team members. 

  • Able to lift 50lbs, stand for extended periods of time.

  • Machining and rapid prototyping

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or higher

  • Experience with Uncountable or other LIMS systems

  • Experience with ISO 9000 practices
