Keel Labs is looking for a talented and motivated individual to lead the analytical testing lab and maintain the lab standards at our Morrisville office.
As a member of the Research & Development team, the analytical scientist will focus on the implementation and refinement of new and existing testing & evaluation protocols. Additionally, this position will contribute to ongoing development projects by performing complex experiments according to outlined procedures and techniques.

Responsibilities:
Effectively plan and conduct analytical procedures, record results, and assist in the interpretation of data for the fiber and polymer characterization.
Develop new or modify existing procedures to address the needs of the research projects.
Identify gaps in existing capabilities and evaluate and recommend potential solutions
Compile data obtained from analytical tests, analyze the data, and generate/present reports to the appropriate internal and external team.
Work hand in hand with R&D team members to accomplish testing requirements.
Contribute towards Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) that document critical procedures in materials handling, process and equipment maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting.
Be a part of overall organizational development through support of constantly improving work processes, teamwork, and culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
BS, with MS preferred, in chemistry, material science, textile chemistry/engineering, fiber/polymer science, or related field.
2-3 years experience in a high complexity testing laboratory
Previous experience with common fiber and polymer characterization techniques
Experience in the use of statistical concepts in data analysis
Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve
Strong continuous improvement mindset
Experience with polymer processing and/or testing equipment is desirable.
Must have the highest standards of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be highly organized, flexible and capable of adapting to priority changes on a daily basis.
