AlgiKnit is looking for an HR Assistant with strong administrative and organizational skills. This individual will assist with handling standard HR procedures, such as recruiting, hiring, reviews, and training, and will also support general administrative work. Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources team by assisting with maintaining employee records, maintaining schedules for employee time off, sorting emails for the HR department, etc
Assist with policy formulation, hiring and general HR company administration
Assist with the recruitment process by creating job postings, identifying and sorting candidates, coordinating communication with candidates, and scheduling interviews and conducting reference checks
Welcome new employees to the organization by assisting with orientation and coordinating trainings
Maintain company documents and employee resources
Liaison with operations team to organize internal company events
Assist with establishing and implementing SOPs where needed
Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations
Base understanding of HR functions, administration, and best practices
Team player with a positive attitude
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Self-starter with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential business information
Previous experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite and related business and communication tools
Experience with PEO systems
General business knowledge/background in start up environments
A passion for sustainability and circular economies
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline
Experience as an HR Assistant, Staff Assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position
Professional in Human Resources certification from HRCI
