Keel Labs is looking for a talented and motivated individual to assist our lab and sourcing team at our Brooklyn office. With a focus on lab practices and global sourcing methods, this individual will work on supporting our research team in and outside of the lab, including material testing and analysis, fiber spinning, and fiber characterization. Responsibilities:
Utilize basic scientific/engineering principles and techniques to accomplish projects with a specifically defined scope
Successfully complete projects and studies with minimal guidance on project objectives and technical approaches
Support projects that involve the extension of present and/or new technologies in one or more areas with an aim at improving and/or developing processes, materials and testing techniques
Manage and document projects and tasks efficiently
Demonstrate open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility
Conduct hands-on experimental work including fiber spinning and material characterizations
Collaborate with other team members to enhance and streamline development and make decisions
Follow safety protocol at all times
Required Skills:
Efficient and effective communication skills across an interdisciplinary team
Strong foundation in chemistry/biochemistry/material science and wet lab processes
Self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects
A focus on and dedication to milestone completion
Quick learner with strong problem solving abilities
Professional, detail oriented, and excellent in time management
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Supplementary:
Textile and fiber knowledge/background is a plus
Experience in data analysis using softwares or coding
Able to learn new processes quickly and put them into practice
A passion for sustainability and circular economies
Aptitude for hands-on problem solving

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material/Textile/Polymer Science or Engineering, or relevant disciplines
1-2 years experience in lab work
