HODINKEE – Content Manager

HODINKEE is a fast-growing media brand and shop that makes watches accessible to everyone. Over the past decade, founder Ben Clymer has grown HODINKEE into a thriving company of creatives. Our team now consists of writers, editors, designers, photographers, podcasters, engineers, and so many other key players who cement HODINKEE’s position as the most trusted source for watch news and products. We have a website. An app. A podcast. A magazine. A retail business. And more. HODINKEE’s goal is to bring readers and consumers the best in wristwatches in a way that’s approachable, authentic, honest and fun.

HODINKEE is looking for a Content Manager to oversee all non-editorial copywriting, ensuring a consistent voice across the HODINKEE business. This role requires strong managerial skills to assign and track content needs and team output, as well as an excellent command of the written word for picking up the pen and writing copy yourself. The right candidate will demonstrate a keen eye for detail and the team-oriented disposition to work across departments. This position will report to the Director of Site Merchandising under the Marketing org.

What You'll Do

  • Manage workflow and output of commercial copywriting staff (both full-time and freelance), including assignments, tracking output, editing all delivered copy, and providing consistent feedback to write
  • Develop and execute content to support all commercial launches, including pitching, writing, editing, and building PDPs and articles about watches and lifestyle/accessory products
  • Supervise – manage, coach, and edit – two full-time copywriters
  • Copyedit all marketing emails, ads, and other creative copy
  • Ensure that all copy is aligned with HODINKEE brand voice, taking an active role in continued developments to brand voice, tone, and messaging
  • Working closely with the Site Merchandising Director, establish and continuously improve content best practices based on industry trends and data analytics
  • Conduct regular content audits of the HODINKEE Shop, ensuring consistent brand voice and messaging across all product descriptions and site copy
  • Collaborate closely with Site Merchandising colleagues on copy strategy and deliverables for all launches and campaigns
  • Collaborate closely with Buying & Planning teams on product information for upcoming product launches, ongoing product description updates, and marketing copy and articles
  • Collaborate with Photography department on creative direction for product launches and campaigns as needed, ensuring alignment with content direction.
