The Basics


We are hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst that will utilize company data to drive insights and efficiencies company-wide using Domo and other data platforms. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and resourceful and will need strong business and data knowledge in order to strategically create the best ways to use, audit, maintain, and report on our data. Day-to-day tasks include setting up new data sets and reporting, auditing existing dashboards and data sets, and ad-hoc reporting requests.


What You’ll Do

Become a full-stack analyst, creating and maintaining data models, data sets, metrics, and dashboards in the data warehouse and Domo

  • Transform raw data into usable output data sets that can be used to design dashboards and key metrics that will drive insights for key decision-making
  • Create and maintain documentation for each data set and dashboard so that users can understand and use the data without having to ask for clarification
  • Update current dashboards, integrating any data changes that may impact reporting
  • Design data sets so that they are easy to use and easily integrate with data warehouse
  • Manage transformations (T) in ELT (currently using SQL-based transformations in DBT)
  • Respond to tickets submitted through Zendesk for new reporting or reporting changes
  • Manage reports that are emailed or viewed through URL to ensure data remains up-to-date and links/emails stay relevant
  • On-board and train Domo users
  • Communicate to all Domo users when changes occur
  • Assist in maintaining clean and well documented data warehouse
  • Develop a deep understanding of key data sources: SugarCRM, Google Analytics, Kissmetrics, and Hubspot
  • Develop and maintain reports needed for key meetings: weekly manager meetings, investor meetings, quarterly reporting, etc.

Drive new insights from data

  • Select a department or portion of data to analyze each week and drive additional insights from what is currently displayed on dashboards
  • Present key-findings to stakeholders and communicate recommended action plan, if applicable
  • Determine how to use data for exception based-management and reporting
  • Discover ways to utilize resources more efficiently by using data

Assist in designing new data fields and data architecture for new data sources

  • Work with the Product Manager of SugarCRM and other applications to ensure new/updated fields are pulling over correctly
  • Speak into the necessary design of new fields/modules so that the data is easily reportable
  • Work closely with Data Scientist to design data sets ready for predictive analysis

Audit data being pulled into Domo to ensure that the data matches the original source

  • Select a portion of data and dashboards to audit each week so that all data sets and cards are audited monthly
  • Set up exception based reporting so that any data changes that impact reporting are caught right away

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Experience with SQL
  • Deep understanding of relational databases, data manipulation, and Excel
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Domo or Tableau
  • Experience implementing data transformation jobs (dbt is preferred)
  • Experience working with Git-based version control
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred, Redshift or Bigquery also valued)
