LOCATION

Candidates should be based in the NY metro area as this position requires you to commute 2-3 times per week to the New York City office.


ABOUT THE ROLE

The Social Media Content Creator will join a highly collaborative digital team and will be responsible for the creative development and delivery of social content for social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Content will be native and specific to each platform and include clever and impactful commentary on the issues around and contributing to poverty, as well as entertaining posts providing levity and tying back to CRUS’ purpose. Posts may be one-offs, series, timely responses to news and trends, or promotions for fundraising campaigns and thought-leadership content. The Social Media Creator will work closely with the Social Media Manager to develop and optimize content, as well as Editorial Director, larger digital team and CRUS in-house creative team. The Social Media Creator reports to the Social Media Manager.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate will have experience conceptualizing and delivering successful social media content in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You have a can-do approach to work and are creatively fearless. You are in tune with pop culture and humor, and have a passion for mission-driven work. You have a comprehensive understanding of social media content. You are steeped in social trends and platform mechanics, personally and professionally, and have an innate feel for content that will create engagement and play to the algorithms.

  • Make engaging social media content for CRUS Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter accounts for various audiences (corporate, education, mass consumer, Gen Z/Gen alpha audiences) that aligns with brand voice and supports departmental goals/strategy.

  • Brainstorm and generate content story ideas to amplify engagement across all-owned social media channels in collaboration with the digital and creative teams.

  • Stay informed and monitor social trends and execute creation of content based on trends.

  • Identify and share real-time cultural opportunities for the brand to engage with.

  • Partner with Digital team to develop paid media assets for all Comic Relief US campaigns.

  • Create new asset styles, designs, and experiences that establish an ownable brand look and feel.

  • Assist in developing partnerships with other social media personalities and organizations.

  • Develop an actionable understanding of our brand, programs, and partnerships and articulate the brand’s look and feel internally and externally.

  • Attend and assist in film and photo content gathering site visits.

  • Support impact storytelling by capturing additional social media content during grantee site visits.

  • Produce high-quality graphics and memes.

  • Take on ad-hoc projects as needed.


ABOUT YOU

  • 3-5 years of experience in a design or creative role at a national brand, nonprofit, or advertising and design agency.

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree or higher in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Multimedia, Video Production, or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in digital/social media with an emphasis on video production and social content creation.

  • Awareness of social media trends, technology, and best practices.

  • Experience developing assets for web and social media platforms (Linkedin, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok).

  • Advanced technical knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, and other creative software packages.

  • Strong design skills are a plus.

  • Strong video and photo lighting, shooting, editing, and motion graphics skills are a Plus.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present to departmental leadership.

THE PAY

CRUS offers competitive compensation. The salary range for this role is anticipated to be $65,000 - $70,000. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: abilities, skills, work experience, knowledge, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
