LOCATION

Candidates should be based in the NY metro area as this position requires you to commute 2-3 times per week to the New York City office.


ABOUT THE ROLE

Comic Relief is seeking a Director of Digital Growth and Giving to lead a small and mighty team committed to building and growing a digital marketing funnel that will drive donations and create a larger audience of engaged supporters. You will be an energetic leader able to generate ideas, test into success, and play the scales – conceptualizing strategy and managing through to execution. This is both a very strategic and very hands-on role.


This senior leader will help set the strategy and implement the plans for growth and donor engagement as part of the Comic Relief digital team. The team works closely across the Comic Relief organization, partnering with the Marketing, Fundraising, and Grants teams to strategize, drive audience and membership, fundraise, and develop and run campaigns and activations. This is a role where an ambitious and talented individual could grow quickly into a visionary, senior leader in a large impactful national organization.


This position reports directly to the head of digital.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Deliver on ambitious fundraising and annual revenue goals.

  • Manage Comic Relief’s paid digital advertising, CRM, and email programs.

  • Set and modify strategy on an annual and quarterly basis.

  • Optimizing user experience and implementing best practices to maximize online donations. 

  • Re-launch Comic Relief’s monthly donor program. 

  • Maximize revenue from our donor database. 

  • Engage and manage outside media agencies for social, SEM etc.

  • Develop and implement new approaches for growing brand and campaign awareness.

  • Develop and implement new approaches for growing Comic Relief’s email database and driving donation conversion. 


ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum 10 years experience in growth marketing for a large, national charity, philanthropic organization, or fundraising platform; or for-profit company with a focus on growing an audience and driving digital transactions.

  • Deep expertise in CRM platforms and email best practices, budget management, and forecasting ability required.

  • You have proven success in building or growing an active audience and driving donor conversion.

  • Savvy, strategic thinker who has experience utilizing traditional and non-traditional methods to build donor/customer acquisition.

  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to understand the needs and motivations of customer segments is a must.

  • You are an expert in best practices for acquisition, conversion, retention, and increasing lifetime value via paid media, email, social, etc.

  • You know what others in the field are doing, both in the public and private sector, and are ready to appropriate and innovate to drive growth.

  • Strong track record of managing marketing, technology, or digital projects to completion.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive performance, audience targeting and segmentation, and optimization.

  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in building comprehensive marketing funnel strategies and execution to advance an organization's mission and goals/objectives. 

  • You are excited by big, audacious goals, data-driven, and get a charge from setting and then exceeding internal benchmarks.

  • You are comfortable with nimble, responsive work that reacts to the world as well as changing it, and you’re confident when wading into new areas and learning as you go.

  • You are an experienced manager who understands how to nurture great people and help them grow into leaders, how to build their confidence and create a results-driven culture of supportive risk-taking and experimentation.

  • Strong cross-functional team management skills and leadership/people management skills required.

THE PAY

CRUS offers competitive compensation. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: abilities, skills, work experience, knowledge, business needs, and market demands.
