Job Summary:

The Sr. Electrical Systems Technician is responsible for setup and execution of wet and dry lab bench test protocols that may span several days, weeks, or months.  The role contributes/authors quality documents (e.g. tool specifications, tool inspections, preventative maintenance, installation qualifications, operational qualifications, etc.) and contributes to design verification and ad-hoc system benchtop testing.  The Sr. Electrical Systems Technician will set up test fixtures/usage scenarios with our implantable Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) System, collect & process data (with guiding instructions) and document results.  This position helps to run the electrical lab space by organizing, maintaining, and stocking lab supplies, as well as creating/maintaining product and development board tool kits.  As needed, this role will help solder circuits and assemble product/tools. 

 

Excellent communication, planning, organization, and execution are required.  This role requires familiarity with medical device development (being aware of regulatory compliance, design controls, and change management).

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with R&D and Quality organizations.
  • Perform complex system setups and execute predefined test protocols/dry runs in wet lab and dry lab environments.
  • Contribute to and redline plans, protocols and reports.
  • Identify and report discrepancies with test executions.
  • Collect and document test results.
  • Use test fixtures and wiring diagrams to set up complex system tests.
  • Solder and wire test circuit boards as the need arises.
  • Assist organization as a lab resource and with lab supplies as needed.
  • Troubleshoot/debug test setups and communicate back to plan authors.
  • Create quality documentation to initiate and maintain proper quality system tools.
  • Work with metrology to identify upcoming equipment calibration/planned usage needs and coordinate timing with R&D engineers.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively and participate on cross functional development teams.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of coworkers, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Comply with Presidio Medical’s quality system requirements as well as any applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, policies, and work practices.

Qualification Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years (2 year with advanced degree) development in safety oriented regulated industries, such as medical, automotive and defense.

Knowledge/skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with medical device development.
  • Some familiarity with Python, or similar programming language.  The ability to execute Python scripts.
  • Mixed signal (analog/digital) test and debugging familiarity a plus.
  • Strong communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize/balance work for multiple individuals.
  • Intrinsically motivated, and detail oriented.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields required.

Physical Demands:

  • Varied sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to lift and carry 20lbs. or less.
