Presidio is led by a highly experienced leadership team with a successful track record of medical device development and commercialization in the field of pain management and neurostimulation. The expertise has allowed Presidio to develop a comprehensive design and development plan to move quickly through prototype builds, animal studies, and clinical use. Enabled by this prior activity, initial clinical work has demonstrated therapeutic efficacy with exceptional outcomes. The team is now working on the next generation system for further clinical work and to develop Presidio’s commercial system.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Program Manager for Medical Devices to join our team at Presidio Medical. This role will play a crucial part in driving the successful development and launch of our innovative medical devices. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are executed on time, within scope, and according to regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of development projects, ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, identifying critical path activities, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering effective communication and timely updates.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Anticipate potential challenges and proactively implement solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Provide regular status reports to senior management, highlighting project progress, risks, and recommended actions.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to the enhancement of project management methodologies.
Qualification Requirements
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in program/project management within the medical device industry.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required
- Strong understanding of medical device development processes, regulations, and quality standards.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex, cross-functional projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
- Understanding and experience in project management, including an understanding of tools, standards, and methodologies.
- Strong planning capabilities, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Outstanding communication skills, including presentation and written communication.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize and balance work from multiple individuals.
- Independently motivated, detail oriented with good problem-solving ability.
Additional
- Understanding of medical device development process for complex devices strongly preferred.
- Program management experience in Neuromodulation is a plus.
- PMP certification is a plus.
Education
- Bachelors’ degree in scientific discipline, Masters’ degree preferred.
Physical Demands
- Varied sitting, standing and walking.
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs. or less.
Position Details
- Position is in South San Francisco. Travel to remote sites as well as external vendors may be necessary.
- A car is recommended, but public transportation is available between South San Francisco and other locations via Caltrain or BART stations for example.
