Job Summary:

Presidio Medical is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical devices for our next-generation, implantable neuromodulation system. This role requires expertise to make sound technical choices, hands-on design experience, and the ability to work with a cross-functional team and external partners. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a startup environment, thinks hard about the product’s clinical use, and can balance detailed engineering execution with system-level thinking and project leadership.  Must have medical device experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initial responsibilities include helping with the current generation system through verification activities and clinical studies.
  • Execute technical projects as a project lead to support development of our next generation system.
  • Design, develop and evaluate electrical components of our neuromodulation system.  This includes circuit analysis/modeling, implementation, characterization and verification, and preparing associated design documentation.
  • Ensure designs meet reliability, safety, and performance requirements for implantable medical devices.
  • Support system integration, bench testing, and troubleshooting
  • Work within Presidio’s design controls and quality system.
  • Coordinate work with external partners, vendors, and contract manufacturers.
  • Collaborate with regulatory and quality teams to support submissions and audits

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong background in high-reliability, low-power, mixed-signal circuit design.  Prefer specific experience with neuromodulation or active implantable medical device.  Key technical areas of value:
    • Low-power analog and digital circuits
    • Stimulation and sensing electronics
    • Power management, batteries, and charging systems
    • Telemetry and communication interfaces
  • Strong understanding of medical device development processes, regulations, and quality standards (ISO 14708, IEC 60601, etc.), including experience with system risk/hazard analysis.
  • Experience with development and integration of embedded systems.  Experience with python to support automated evaluation hardware preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience required in medical device development.
