SOCCER – JUNIOR VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH


Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting with the organization of the Carondelet High School soccer program. The position prioritizes integrity, innovation and inspiration while assisting with practices, motivating students, and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques specific to soccer. The Junior Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations of Carondelet High School, the East Bay Athletic League and the North Coast Section. The Junior Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach models humble leadership, embraces possibility and innovation, delivers great, and inspires joy and gratitude in athletes and colleagues.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Fosters a community spirit consistent with the Carondelet Mission and Core Values, among coaches, student athletes and parents.   • Assist with the entire program, including sub-varsity teams, and promote leadership and character development among all student athletes.

  • Follow and maintains knowledge of school policies and procedures relevant to the position.

  • Instruct and demonstrate the soccer skills and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.

  • Organize soccer drills for specific positions, which may be separate from main team practices, as required.

  • Assist with the development of game strategy and team practices.

  • Ensure that proper maintenance of all athletic equipment, uniforms, and facilities are adhered to.

  • Assist in the implementation of disciplinary policies and emphasize sportsmanship.

  • Maintain a safe environment, including facilities, for student athletes at all times.

  • Ensure that medical and safety procedures are followed in the event of an athlete’s injury.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Carondelet Varsity Soccer Head Coach or Carondelet Junior Varsity Soccer Head Coach. 


Administrative Duties

  • Adhere to all financial policies of the school, in regards to collection and disbursement of money, expenses and receipts.

  • Maintain necessary records and complete required paperwork in a specified time and manner.

  • Ensure that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.

  • Participate in special activities to include parent’s sports night, banquets, award nights, open house etc.


Minimum Qualifications

This is a non-faculty position. High school and/or college level coaching experience is preferred. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Should have knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred. CPR, First Aid AED and other coaching certifications will be required prior to coaching.


Terms of Employment

Seasonal salary as per agreement.
