The Marketing and Communications Specialist, is a member of the creative, dynamic Marketing and Communications team and reports to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of design and technical knowledge and experience, while also having extraordinary interpersonal skills. This position will collaborate with teams across campus including: Academic, Admissions, Alumnae, Athletics, Campus Ministry, Center for Innovation, College & Career, Community Relations, Development, Student Life, Wellness, and Principal and President’s office. This is a full time, year round exempt position.
Essential Responsibilities:
Adept at marketing, writing, and producing persuasive brochures; marketing campaign copy and video; newsletter and website stories; magazine articles, etc.
Creates regular, engaging social media posts across all platforms
Handles operational web updates (calendar, pages, etc.)
Generates digital forms including visually on brand content
Aggregates the Weekly e-News
Updates the site including the official web calendar, photos, copy, and other content
Designs and develops marketing collateral
Promotes Events and provides onsite MarCom support (e.g., photos and videos)
Coordinates video copy and shoots and creates on brand campaign videos

Social Media:
Create and manage a social media plan that publishes audience-centric content for relevant social media channels
Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content regularly
Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner, and monitor customer reviews and feedback
Suggest and implement new content and features to develop brand awareness
Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications
Data Analytics:
Develops a framework and system for tracking website and social media analytics
Creates effective search engine optimization (SEO) and social media optimization (SMO) annual strategy plans and tracks and reports on progress quarterly
Interprets data to recommend adjustments to email campaigns and online strategies for MarCom initiatives in an effort to increase traffic, followers, and key audience engagement
Monitors email bounce backs and works with data analysts to ensure data integrity across all platforms
Partners with the Director of Strategic MarCom to define campaign KPIs and digital specific measurement approaches that enable measurement of key outcomes
Tracks and reports on campaign key performance indicators (KPIs) on a quarterly basis managing the school’s social media strategy and presence, and manifesting a strategic search engine optimization (SEO) and social media optimization (SMO) plan.
Technical Skill Set and Experience:
Apple iOS and Google Suite
Email marketing (Constant Contact)
Form builder and creator (Jotform)
Design tools (Canva) and project management tools (Trello)
Photography and Videography
Preferred Technical Skill Set:
Adobe Suite capabilities (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom)
Create files correctly for press (bleeds, PDF proofing, color separations, etc.)

Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, team environment
Exceptional attention to detail and passionate about creating on brand work product

Good written and verbal communication skills and great editing skills
Strong project management (including management of multiple timelines and deliverables), time management, and organizational skills
