Summary of Responsibilities
The Sr Product Manager, Platform will manage product strategy, delivery, and adoption by internal and external application-teams of LevaData’s platform. Responsibilities for this position will include technology assessment, market assessment, business planning, strategy, partner management, innovation, roadmap management, adoption, and growth of internal (and later external) customers. The scope of components will span API, data ingestion, data transformation, big data, AI pipeline, analytics layer, task / workflow management, multi-enterprise collaboration and transactions layers. She/he will be responsible for driving multi-year success timelines and ultimately revenue growth from our future application store.
Main Tasks of Position:
Develop, evangelize, and manage overall platform strategy for the company
Manage the platform product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
Perform market assessments, systems reviews and user research to identify underserved needs.
Research market and competition using multiple channels, on-going calls, and interactions with customers & prospects
Conduct customer interviews, user testing and design workshops
Support Engineering in seeking, securing, and managing technology partners
Translate business-to-technical requirements, and vice versa
Document platform requirements considering use cases for new products and features
Develop user journey maps, storyboards, detailed user stories, workflow charts, diagrams, wireframes, acceptance criteria and other business requirement documents
Define and track success metrics
Manage platform delivery working closely with Engineering team
Prioritize features, platform innovations, data science, and data pipeline activities to support strategic objectives and product roadmaps
Help develop and deploy key market messages and communication strategies for the Platform with Marketing Support team.
Help develop and implement go-to-market plans, overseeing interdepartmental activities to execute plans.

Pricing and revenue modeling for Platform offerings
Creating, managing and growing a network of internal and external developers building applications on LevaData Platform
Running Developer Network meetups
Expected Deliverables in 3 - 6 - 9 - 12 months (link to business strategy and plan):
3 months:
Define foundational capabilities needed for the LevaData platform
May have to help recruit top engineering talent for the Platform POD
Document detailed requirements including Epics and Stories for key reference use cases for next 3-month roadmap
Work with engineering and technology leaders to assess and select from existing and proposed platform components
Oversee delivery of key capabilities within the Platform roadmap
6 months:
Together with Engineering team, deliver at least 1 reference use case for at least one early adopter customer on the Platform
9 months:
Deliver MVP of foundational capabilities of the LevaData Platform.
12 months:
Launch the first 2-3 services that define the LeveData Platform.
Needed for position 2 to 3 years out:
We are really a Platform and Content company. A Platform product owner is tasked to build up, strengthen and grow this offering, its revenues and the developer community. Success of platform will be measured in the long term by the number of users on platform, number of apps delivered on the platform, number outside developers in the developer community building on platform, LeveData revenue growth from Platform offerings and revenue and user growth of 3rd party apps on Platform.
Professional Background:
Education:
Bachelor’s in engineering, computer science, data sciences or other technical major preferred.
Master’s in engineering, computer science, business, marketing or design related discipline

Longer term, the Platform position is uncharted waters for LevaData. Platform will eventually be a revenue generating business requiring shrewd business management. We need someone who can build this offering as a new business venture through iterative market validation, learning and refinement.
The position will also support Engineering in managing relationships with technology partners. This will require negotiating technical as well as business terms and conditions and then managing these partner relationships to be mutually beneficial. PM must have business savvy to understand trade-offs on both sides and advise leadership team in this regard.

Technical Skills: Minimum experience of 5 years product managing data & analytics-oriented enterprise software.
We will be embedding data science technologies, analytics and knowledge graph management into the Platform stack. Ideal candidate needs to have worked prior with AI / ML based solutions. The candidate must be able to go back and forth between business and technical trade-offs and communicate effectively to customers (technical and non-technical), leadership team, data science team, and engineering.
PM Experience with enterprise software
We are looking for someone who has built and managed platforms and platform products before.
For the Platform PM, it will also be important to assess if the candidate has had exposure to managing enterprise Platform business models.
8 - 12 years total; Minimum experience of 5 years doing PM work; 3 years as BA
We need a person seasoned in product management disciplines ranging from market assessment, user research, needs assessment, use case & user journey mapping, MRD and PRD documentation, agile development, and roadmap management.
