About the Role
We’re hiring our first accounting leader to establish Polimorphic’s financial foundation. As Controller, you’ll take ownership of all accounting, financial operations, and internal controls. You’ll work closely with our Chief of Staff, CEO, and leadership team to build scalable systems and processes that support our growth as we expand post-Series A.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a complete accounting and finance — perfect for someone excited to move beyond just closing the books and play a strategic role in shaping how we operate as a company.
What You’ll Do
-
Own all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and revenue recognition.
-
Develop and implement accounting policies, processes, and controls aligned with GAAP and SOC2 compliance.
-
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and prepare accurate financial statements.
-
Coordinate with external accountants, and tax advisors.
-
Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and expense policies.
-
Partner with leadership to produce budgets, forecasts, and management reporting.
-
Build scalable financial systems and automate workflows across billing, invoicing, and expense management.
-
Support due diligence and reporting needs for investors and board meetings.
-
Eventually, recruit and lead an accounting team as the company grows.
Who You Are
-
5+ years of accounting experience, including time in a startup, SaaS, or high-growth environment.
-
CPA strongly preferred; prior experience at a top accounting firm is a plus.
-
Strategic understanding of U.S. GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606).
-
Hands-on operator — comfortable rolling up your sleeves and implementing systems yourself.
-
Experience with accounting and finance tools (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Bill.com).
-
Strong analytical and communication skills; able to clearly present financial insights to non-finance leaders.
Nice to Have
-
Experience with SOC2 compliance, audit readiness, or state/local government contracting.
-
Prior involvement in a Series A–C venture-backed startup environment.
-
Familiarity with CRM, SaaS metrics, and subscription-based revenue models.
