Job Title: Full-Time Café/Concession Assistant Manager

Job Summary:
Scripps Birch Aquarium Cafe is looking for a dedicated Full-Time Café/Concession Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a team, and ensure excellent customer service. This position is perfect for someone with food service experience who enjoys a fast-paced environment and working with people. The manager will assist with staffing, inventory, and maintaining cleanliness while ensuring smooth business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations of the concession stand
- Lead and motivate staff, ensuring excellent customer service
- Assist with hiring, training, and scheduling employees
- Maintain inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste
- Ensure food preparation meets health and safety standards
- Handle customer concerns and provide solutions
- Operate cash registers, oversee cash handling, and reconcile sales reports
- Keep the work environment clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
- Assist with promotions, marketing efforts, and seasonal specials
- Step in to perform crew duties when necessary
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in food service or retail, preferably in a leadership role
- Strong communication and team management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Basic math and cash-handling abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to [weight] lbs
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly pay: $26 - $28 per hour (based on experience)
