Job Title: Business Tax Services Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of 4-6 tax consultants performing R&D, Cost Segregation, and other business tax incentives, including leading, managing, and being accountable for the weekly production milestones for the R&D and Cost Segregation projects of the firm.
- Lead the execution of and support the HR and Quality functions to continually improve upon the firm’s talent development program for its R&D, Cost Segregation, and other tax professionals, including its standardized and systemized training system and career development paths
- Lead weekly (and other regularly) scheduled planning, production, and training meetings for the team.
- Lead the technical execution of preliminary and Phase 1 estimates of the R&D tax credit and Cost Segregation opportunities for the firm’s clients and prospects
- Lead client calls and meetings for advanced client service and technical issues, as needed and as they arise
- Communicate proactively with clients and engagement partners regarding project status, client service opportunities, and other significant matters in a timely manner
- Maintain technical expertise in various tax areas related to industry specialization
- Work remotely from home office
- Approx. 4-8 minimum required in-person internal meetings per year
Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years previous experience with managing R&D tax credit studies with very strong knowledge of the software industry
- 2+ years of cost segregation / fixed asset management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Law or related field
- CPA license, JD/LLM or EA preferred
- Some travel required (client site visits: no more than 5-10% of work time traveling)
- Time management and attention to detail
- Experience as a career advisor focused on employee development and training
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task on a variety of tasks and projects
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong documentation skills
- Strong internal communication and external client interaction skills
- Self-starter, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and a good sense of humor
- Must have reliable transportation and secure work location
