As an Engineering Intern, you will assist the engineering team with limited supervision in completing tax incentive studies for a variety of clients primarily in Texas. You will support the team and our clients on a regular basis and be an essential component of our growing practice.

We are currently a small firm but growing at a fast pace and we need high quality talent. We primarily serve closely-held, mid-sized companies. This allows our partners and staff to experience a penumbra of issues, challenges and opportunities different than those afforded by Big-4 or Top 10 Accounting Firms.

Job Title: Engineering Intern 

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities 

·         Support the engineering team as they complete studies for Cost Segregation, 179D Energy Efficient Commercial Building Deductions, as well as other specialty incentives as needed: 

o    Obtain and analyze client data using Excel models, 

o    Review and analyze construction drawings  

o    Write detailed reports and narratives, 

o    Document, review, and assemble comprehensive work product for review by IRS and FTB examiners 

Skills & Qualifications 

·         Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required 

·         Previous experience with CAD, Drafting, and/or BIM a plus 

·         Previous work experience in AEC industry a plus 

·         Ability to work outside, climb onto roofs, and lift up to 50 pounds 

·         Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) 

·         Time management and attention to detail 

·         Ability to prioritize and multi-task on a variety of tasks and projects 

 

·         Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong documentation skills 

·         Strong client interaction skills 

·         Must have reliable transportation and secure work location 

·         Self-starter with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
