Job Title: Technical Writer - Remote
Summary: The Technical Writer will assist tax managers and partners with limited supervision in completing reports for tax incentive studies for a variety of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Research technical topics relating to our clients and the various industries we serve (architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, software, etc.)
- Manage client communications effectively
- Coordinate appointments with clientele and other BRAYNiacs as needed
- Conduct interviews with subject-matter experts on specialized topics
- Gather, review, and organize client documentation
- Provide key client personnel and/or CPA with updates on project status and milestones
- Write and compile clear, logical, and technically accurate client deliverables
- Take clear and concise notes in preparation for, during, and after meetings (internal and external) as needed
- Update status on project milestones regularly using BRAYN project management tools
- Review and edit content and client deliverables developed by team members for formatting and accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality in all business matter
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist in the research and analysis of client data (such as contracts, labor hours, etc.)
- Substantiate results on consulting projects through presentations to clients
- Generate improved workflow solutions
- Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and forms
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (English, Communications, Technical Communications, etc.) required
- Previous experience in technical writing
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong documentation skills
- Strong client interaction skills
- Time management and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multitask on a variety of tasks and projects, especially when working toward critical business deadlines
- Self-starter, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, and a good sense of humor
- Reliable transportation and secure work location required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Previous experience with R&D tax credit projects in quantification and documentation preferred
- Some travel required (about up to 5% of work time traveling)
