Profile Summary:

The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  2. Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  3. Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  4. Meets regularly with team leaders to assess personnel needs, review organization changes and employee relations matters. Maintains open lines of communication between employees, front-line leaders, and senior leadership.
  5. Provides employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  6. Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  7. Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  8. Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  9. Reviews, tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
  10. Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinate work activities of subordinates.
  11. Oversees benefits administration, assists employees with inquiries, enrollment and changes.
  12. Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  13. Maintains and administers performance evaluations and merit increases.
  14. Conducts exit interviews and recommends corrective action if necessary. Ensures necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
  15. Develops and deploys HR documentation, policies, procedures or special projects as needed.
  16. Manages and assists with planning of employee engagement activities and company events.
  17. Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  18. Assists with accreditation audits.
  19. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  20. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  21. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters.
  22. Ensures compliance with all Accreditation bodies, federal, state and local employment laws.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent in work experience, in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 3+ years of human resources management experience.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM- SCP, PHR, SPHR certificate preferred

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient knowledge of employee relation methodologies and ability to navigate highly sensitive discussions/issues.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Experience in Employee Relations with specific experience in grievance and conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Pay Range:

Annual base salary $75,000 - $100,000.

Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
