About River’s Edge Pharmacy:
River’s Edge Pharmacy has become a leader in infusion therapy services. Administered by specially trained infusion nurses, these services are provided at standalone locations, physicians’ offices. Each location provides individualized care in a private setting for procedures including IVIG, Hemophilia, Chemotherapy, TPN, and Pain Management.

River’s Edge Pharmacy started in Rancho Mirage, CA in 2008 to address the need for compassionate care by specialty pharmacies. In 2013, the Company moved to a larger facility in Palm Desert, CA.

The successful execution of River’s Edge Pharmacy’s growth strategy led to the opening of a total of nine infusion locations and two pharmacies in California.

Since the expansion, River’s Edge Pharmacy has become the specialty pharmacy and infusion service provider of choice for patients and physicians seeking exceptional expertise, human kindness, and professional guidance.

Position Summary:

As a Patient Care Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and support every step of the way. You will leverage your outstanding customer service skills, knowledge of pharmacy management software, technology platforms, medical terminology, insurance eligibility, and patient care expertise to provide comprehensive assistance and guidance.

Key Accountabilities: 

  1. Provide outstanding support to patients and their families, addressing inquiries, concerns, and medical questions with empathy and professionalism.
  2. Utilize pharmacy management software and technology platforms to manage patient profiles accurately.
  3. Leverage technology platforms to streamline processes and enhance the patient’s experience.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and insurance eligibility to assist patients with understanding their healthcare options and coverage.
  5. Monitor each patient's progress toward their healthcare goals and intervene as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  6. Educate patients about their condition, treatment options, and medication usage, empowering them to manage their health actively.
  7. Solve problems, from medication issues to insurance challenges, efficiently and effectively.
  8. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information and adhere to all privacy regulations.

Plus may perform other duties as assigned. 

 

 Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare-related role with a focus on patient interaction and pharmacy management software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, insurance eligibility, and patient care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Passion for providing high-quality care and making a positive impact in patients' lives.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour DOE

Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
