The Controller role will require majority of daytime availability dedicated to your specific accounts' activities, although many tasks may be performed off-hours. You will provide fractional Controller services to small and/or mid-sized businesses.

This is a Contractor role. We will match your skillset and available monthly capacity with appropriate assignments as they become available. Assignments are generally long-term and last greater than 12 months – 2 years or more. Short-term projects are available, at times, as well. Work is project-based but may include hourly rates ranging from $35-60/hour dependent on skill level required of the contractor.

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Completes financial reconciliations
  • Closes the books on a monthly basis
  • Produces clear monthly financial statements
  • Prepares year-end financials
  • May perform account restructuring
  • Ensures accuracy of General Ledger
  • Review/provide oversight of AP/AR
  • Performs some project management of financial team initiatives
  • May perform some payroll duties
  • Year-end reporting
  • May contribute on special projects
  • Bonus: Can play up or down into additional team roles to include CFO or Transactional

Skills

  • Work experience as a Controller or similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Experience with cash management and risk assessment
  • Good knowledge of accounting software
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines
  • BS or MS in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA or CMA preferred
