• Job Title: Systems Engineer
  • Location:  NIWC Pacific, San Diego, CA
  • Summary:  This position is in support Navy’s various Unmanned Systems. This effort provides support to the NIWC Pacific Unmanned Systems (UxS) Cybersecurity Engineering Services (UCES) Integrated Product Team (IPT) for researching, recommending, designing, and implementing high assurance technical solutions in the fields of cryptographic solutions, cryptographic key management, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), Cybersecurity Testing, TEMPEST, Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Program Protection implementation including Critical Program Information (CPI), Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), Software Assurance, and Anti-Tamper implementation. 
  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review/update for review, existing technical and management documentation.  Participate in meetings, conferences, and symposia.
  • Provide engineering and technical services within the production environment in support of infrastructure that shall focus on systems modifications, implementation, and maintenance of UCES infrastructure in the production environments.
  • Ensure any equipment/system installed or integrated into Navy platform will meet the cybersecurity requirements as specified under DoDI 8500.01.
  • Conduct engineering analysis to identify, document and design optimal infrastructure and architectural approaches for UCES related development and production environments.
  • Maintain deployment of UCES related systems using automated application deployment, scaling and management methodologies.
  • Update, build and configure modular security applications for various UCES environment.
  • Analyze performance and recommend improvements for UCES related infrastructure, including management and recovery strategy.
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend STIG mitigations to system components to meet security requirements.
  • Qualifications/Skills/Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of systems experience.
  • MS Office, Project, Visio, and SharePoint skills.
  • Current active DoD Secret clearance is preferred, but must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance level.
  • Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (7 years of applicable experience will be considered in lieu of degree.)
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT II.
