Position Summary: The Operations Associate for Urban Recipe is responsible for the management and maintenance of the warehouse, carrying out the logistics of receiving, processing, storing, and sending inventory according to purchase orders and shipping schedules. Their duties include loading orders onto trucks and shipping containers, organizing incoming stock, and putting the appropriate labels on outgoing parcels. The Operations Associate will also be responsible for supporting the Manager of Operations in the procurement of food for all of Urban Recipe’s programs and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
Collect merchandise from the warehouse and safely transport materials to co-op locations
Receiving and documenting merchandise for delivery or return
Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse
Identifying any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notifying the operations team and direct supervisor
Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping
Managing & storing all merchandise with appropriate care
Assisting with training of newly employed warehouse workers
Adding labels to ensure products are transported to the right destination
Correspond with the leadership team regarding organizational goals and objectives for the co-ops
Assist the Manager of Operations in the creation and communication of weekly delivery schedules
Ensure all distribution trackers, logs, and administrative paperwork are completed weekly
In collaboration with the warehouse team, ensure the appropriate quality, quantity, and variety of inventory is available at all times
Serves as a representative of Urban Recipe at vendor locations and distributions
Identify innovative strategies for continually improving Urban Recipe’s impact, effectiveness, and overall quality of the warehouse
Wear and utilize all required PPE and safety equipment/tools
Performs other duties as assigned
Other Duties
Support warehouse team with needs and tasks
Carry out administrative warehouse tasks as required to facilitate an efficient working environment
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Forklift license
At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse position
Qualifications:
Experience with a community-based or nonprofit organization is strongly preferred
Experience with working in a forklift and CDL driving

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The employee will be required to lift and transport heavy items to waist level, up to 40lbs, daily
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking are required
Required to wear and utilize all required PPE and safety equipment/tools
