About the Role

Georgia Association of REALTORS® has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced hands-on Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team.

As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a key role in our organization's financial operations, working closely with and under the guidance and supervision of our Finance Director. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and ensuring that day-to-day accounting responsibilities are assigned and completed on time. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including year-end audit preparation.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all day-to-day accounts receivable activities, reconciling and posting entries. Review and pursue outstanding receivables.
  • Perform monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations, variance analysis, and provide general ledger support.
  • Execute and post daily RPAC (Realtor Political Action Committee) reports to verify all transactions have been created and posted, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and reporting integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
  • Preparation of department/class budget vs. actual reports, ensuring accuracy.
  • Participate in conducting internal audits, covering various areas including, but not limited to membership and PAC.
  • Provide exceptional accounting and operational service to our members and local associations.
  • Collaborate in preparing financial packets, reports and supporting documentation for staff and Board meetings.
  • Facilitate the scheduling of committee meetings.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial data, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Perform other job-related tasks and projects as directed by the Finance Director or CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate should have the following skills, education, and experience:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred), or minimum 5+ years of relevant corporate work experience.
  • Proven advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online; familiarity with Bill.com and eCommerce is a plus.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to multi-task, perform under pressure, have a sense of urgency, and meet deadlines is essential.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
