The Local Advocacy Outreach Manager will pursue stronger connections between the local REALTOR® organizations, and the Georgia Association of REALTORS®

Creating these connections will involve networking throughout the region with local REALTOR® members, local elected officials, and other potential coalition partners. Currently seeking candidates from north, central and south Georgia area. 

Through the use of current statewide committees, many new options can be provided to local REALTOR® boards/associations that have not been previously used to their fullest extent. 

Local Advocacy has been a fundamental part of the Georgia Association of REALTORS® approach to public policy and government affairs. As the state continues to grow, it is important to begin focusing on regional methods to continue providing support to REALTOR® efforts.

This position will get acclimated by:    working membership, leadership, and staff of local area Realtor boards and associations;    coordinating Realtor Political Action fundraising efforts locally and statewide;  coordinating issue based advocacy efforts at the local government level by  researching local policy initiatives;   planning community outreach by utilizing grant/programs and / or  resources for local membership through the National Association of REALTORS "REALTOR Party Programs" and / or state offered grants;      assisting with planning and execution of Capitol Hill meetings (annual event) in Washington, DC and / or local REALTORS Days At the Dome (annual event for Georgia REALTORS in Atlanta);   identifying existing coalition opportunities.

POSITION TYPE

Full Time, Exempt

TRAVEL:

Regular travel within the state (reimbursed by mile according to IRS published rate); Overnight, multi-day travel for state and national events. Expected travel 50% plus. 


I. POSITION DESCRIPTION Serves as the manager of fundraising, issue mobilization, governmental, and community focused efforts/programs under the Governmental Affairs Department.


II. OBJECTIVE Advocacy Outreach Manager will provide services to local boards/associations in the areas of planning for community outreach, GARPAC fundraising, and understanding of NAR Core Standards.

III. REPORTS TO Director of Governmental Affairs

V. TRAVEL: Regular travel within the state (reimbursed by mile according to IRS published rate); Overnight, multi-day travel several times per year for state and national events.

VI. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Work with local associations to implement strategies that improve and/or expand their use of REALTOR® Party Programs offered by NAR

● Work with local associations to implement strategies that improve and/or expand their use of RIAC, and RPACFC Programs offered by GAR

● Work with local associations to understand strategies that improve their ability to meet Core Standards as established by NAR

● Assist each local association as requested in developing an RPAC fundraising plan to reach their end of year RPAC goals ● Assist with the planning and execution of the annual REALTOR ® Day at the Capitol

● Assist GAR Governmental Affairs Staff with improving the SPC/Legislative Key Contact Program by identifying relationships with members and elected officials.

● Manages education and implementation of REALTOR® Party Programs and understanding of NAR Core Standards through utilization of available programs/planning. Supplemental Job Functions: 

● Works independently and exercises discretion to manage assignments and projects to meet local, state, and national goals.

● Submit regularly scheduled reports on progress and goals objectives.

● Attend GAR meetings as requested.

● Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or 2-5 years equivalent work experience.

2. Proven written, oral (public speaking), analytical, and interpersonal skills.

3. Experience in political or governmental field.

4. Working knowledge of Georgia state and local legislative process.

5. Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and set own schedule.

6. Experience in customer or constituent services.

7. Reliable means of transportation for daily travel.

8. Proficiency in basic business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail
