POSITION DESCRIPTION:

               

The Director of Association Engagement and Leadership Services at the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR) is a multifaceted role.
Continuous connectivity across the National, State, and Local associations is an ongoing aspiration of GAR, and the work within this position will have many paths to solidify member engagement throughout all three levels.
This will also include ongoing engagement of Association Executives (AEs) and key staff across the state.
Critical responsibilities include the organization and logistical management of the Leadership Team, Regional Directors, and senior staff for GAR and NAR events as well as facilitating the attendance of notable dignitaries. Additionally, the position supports the GAR Leadership Team and senior staff with their engagement of local associations. The Director assists in fostering relationships between GAR, NAR, and Local boards to enhance overall member engagement and representation throughout all three levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for the on-going development and implementation of new AE Orientation
  • Supports local board/association offices to assist new Association Executives with resources/presentations
  • Assists Regional Directors in their effort to engage membership
  • Assists in preparation for and attends GAR and NAR programming that fall within the realm of impact for the role
  • Shall negotiate and secure Keynote Speakers as needed
  • Responsible for GAR Logistics needs for events held during NAR meetings
  • Responsible for securing NAR Dignitaries and NAR Region 5 Leadership to attend the GAR Conferences
  • Serves as the staff liaison responsible for Core Standards 
  • Maintains GAR Leadership Team calendar and sends reminders of incoming requests to the GAR leadership team
  • Foster strong relationships with local association executives and provide a means of communication between GAR and member boards within regions to assess membership needs and address concerns
  • Support members in their pursuit of roles within NAR committees, forums, and leadership positions ensuring representation of GAR at the national level
  • Assist in the preparation for and coordination of the GAR Annual Leadership Summit, the Leadership Retreat, and other key strategic events and functions
  • Assist the President in hosting and entertaining guests during GAR functions and NAR meetings
  • Plans and coordinates the GAR Leadership Academy, GAR Leadership Retreat, GAR Leadership Summit, and other similar programming
  • Other duties as directed by the CEO.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of five years Association management or not-for-profit corporation experience preferred; marketing, public relations and member services experience preferred.
Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university (Business Administration, Association Management, Education) or 8-10 years equivalent work experience.
Proven track record of working with leadership teams and executives.

Strong understanding of association governance and structure.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and handle complex and changing work environments.
