Summary of Position

Senior Network Engineer for UltraDDoS is responsible to analyze problems, gather requirements, design, and test DDoS protection solutions. This is an opportunity to participate in an industry- leading network security environment and solve today’s most demanding cyberwarfare challenges.

Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Develop scalable network designs, solutions, policies, and recommendations.
  • Identify, research, and evaluate network related tools and emerging network technologies.
  • Evaluate and test upgrades to network equipment such as routers and switches.
  • Document new and existing network deployments according to standards.
  • Drive revenue growth through the creative development of new products and services.
  • Participate as network security Subject Matter Expert both internally and externally.
  • Advise developers on automation necessary for network management & visibility.
  • Advise support team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as mentor to the other engineering team members.
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule with several other team members.
  • Provide third-tier support.

 

Specific skills required

  • 15+ years of network engineering in ISP/CSP environments
  • Expert level understanding of global Internet network architectures. required
  • Extensive operational experience with carrier-class routers and switches from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista. required
  • Extensive operational experience with the BGP routing protocol and superior BGP routing protocol troubleshooting skills required
  • Experience with global Anycast service design and traffic engineering methods
  • Experience with DDoS detection, attack analysis, and mitigation techniques
  • Experience with network automation tools a plus.
  • Experience with DNS traffic engineering a plus
  • Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Must have excellent written and communication skills

 

Knowledge & Application: Serves as an expert in the field and principal advisor. Provides, guides and uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues. Applies extensive knowledge of theories, practices and design matters. Leads the application of existing principles and guides development of new ideas.

Complexity & Problem-Solving: Works on issues that impact program success or addresses future concepts and products. Solutions are devised based on limited information and requires judgment. Implementation of solutions requires a longer-term view which impacts strategic goals and objectives. Results impact multiple functions.

Collaboration & Interaction: Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. Creates formal networks with key decision makers and widely recognized as expert and thought leader by both internal and external community. Serves as external spokesperson for the organization.

Typical Degree & Years of Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a master’s degree, or equivalent experience.

Salary range $180,000 - 202,000
