Job Description
As an NMS Engineer you will assist in defining organizational holistic monitoring/alerting strategy to ensure operations of our product service offerings. You will operate, maintain, & document organizational NMS related tools. You will be expected to troubleshoot and mitigate production NMS problems when they are escalated
Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, & document organizational NMS related tools.
Assist in defining organizational holistic monitoring/alerting strategy.
Assist in developing scalable monitoring/alerting designs, solutions, policies, and recommendations.
Implement these monitoring/alerting solutions per approved design.
Document these monitoring/alerting solutions and implementations.
Assist in training organizational staff engineers on these monitoring/alerting solutions and implementations.
Provide NMS tool development operations support which may include after-hours activity.
Closely partner with information security to ensure security compliance
Qualifications
5+ years experience in operating & maintaining Network Management Systems and Operations Support Systems.
2+ years scripting development. Python a plus.
2+ years in Cloud Network Operations
2+ years in Network automation
Direct experience with Netcool and Splunk a plus.
Additional Qualifications
Operational experience using Linux systems for network and systems administration tasks.
Experience with industry-standard network change management and configuration policies.
Experience with network orchestration tools a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities.
Ability to define process improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
