Summary of Position
You'll need to be a strong communicator as the complexity of this system requires constant coordination with other team members. You will help define problems and design solutions to those problems. You will be expected to present a clear rationale for your design choices based on your understanding of the requirements, technical constraints, and business and user needs.

Partner with product managers and engineering leaders to work through technical tradeoffs that affect product roadmaps.
Influence and contribute to the internal design process and team culture, supporting the team's current and long-term objectives.
Bring in new tools and techniques to improve workflows, create designs, map out user flows, and share our work.
Find ways to grow design's impact within the organization, spending time to share design decisions throughout the organization that would benefit other teams and product areas.
To work on critical designs under minimal-to-no supervision while also demonstrating the ability to lead projects and initiatives autonomously.
Responsibilities
Ability to lead and direct design thinking for a wide range of products.
Demonstrated understanding of web standards and accessible design (508 compliance).
Expert knowledge of UI design principles and techniques.
Expert knowledge of responsive design and mobile UI.
Strong working knowledge of HTML5/XHTML, CSS3 and JavaScript.
Ability to perform in a fast paced, high stress design process under minimal supervision.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present work to executives and large groups; ensure product partners are in the loop, understand project direction, know what's coming up next and one year down the road.
Provide work effort estimates to management to assist in setting priorities.
Deliver timely work in accordance with estimates.
Analyze data-driven insights and user research to inform design decisions.
Passionate about being a part of an integral part of solving complex problems with simple, easy-to-use solutions
Comfortable giving and receiving critical design feedback
Experience in designing artifacts such as journey maps, user journeys, personas, etc.
A knack for gathering, interpreting, and addressing feedback effectively
A solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation
Curiosity and willingness to dive into the technical details with engineers, when needed.
Effective low-fi sketching and prototyping as a means to get feedback and iterate quickly—and the willingness to throw it all out and try again.
Clear articulation of the design problem, the tradeoffs you've made in your solution, and the impact of different approaches.
A high degree of comfort making decisions without all the information, and learning from the inevitable wrong turns.
Qualifications
5+ years' experience on a cross-functional product team where you collaborated with product managers and engineers in designing user interfaces for SaaS B2B use.
Experience in cybersecurity domain preferred.
Experience with SaaS, e-commerce, productivity software, or industrial applications helps.
Facility using one of the popular UX design tools, such as Sketch, InVision, Figma, Adobe XD (we use Figma, FWIW).
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Skills That Set You Apart
M.S. in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Design Strategy, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
7-10 years of experience as a UX practitioner (e.g., UX Strategist, Researcher, UX Designer, Product Designer)
Experience working collaboratively with other product managers and engineers in a variety of settings and strong communication skills with the ability to articulate positions and advocate designs.
Experience with visual design, data visualization, content strategy or front-end development.
Knowledge of agile product environments and processes.
Serve as liaison between UX team members on different parts of large projects; communicate regularly with Engineering and Product teams.
Proactively review contending products and recommends design solutions that differentiate Neustar Security Services products from those of competitors.
Ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, product needs and business requirements to formulate strategic points of view.
