Job Description
This candidate will be responsible for developing and evangelizing the vision, strategies, and tactics as well as the successful launch and expansion of DNS products into new and existing markets. The candidate will be required to define and manage the suite of DNS products and solutions within Neustar to drive increased market share in a crowded market. This candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners and internal cross-functional stakeholders. As a member of an agile product team, you will lead customer discovery activities, requirements definition, feature prioritization, design, development, and implementation activities associated with the DNS services under your management.
Responsibilities
Neustar Security Services is seeking a Sr. Manager of Product Management to join the team that is responsible for strategy, definition, delivery and adoption of our market leading DNS Management and Security suite. This is an exciting time to join the DNS Product Management team as we rapidly accelerate and expand our offering across all facets of the DNS ecosystem.
Neustar Security Services suite of DNS services include UltraDNS, UltraDNS Firewall, and UltraDNS Public. The management of all of these would fall under the responsibility of the successful candidate. UltraDNS has a long history of pioneering innovations and a number of industry firsts, such as being:
The first managed DNS provider in the world;
The first DNS service to leverage proprietary code, which unlike BIND-based services, is not open-sourced;
The first DNS service protected by a built-in DDoS mitigation service - now known as Neustar Security Services' UltraDDoS Protect;
The first DNS service to offer an entirely segregated and securely sealed DNS environment using the award-winning, DNS Shield™.
Qualifications
10+ years of product management experience in Internet networking and/or security solutions
Strong understanding of DNS
Strong understanding of network and security architectures
Prior experience in building and managing products that deliver services at Internet scale
Prior experience in delivering a cloud-based solution
Ability to interact with customers and prospects to define market requirements, and translate these into product requirements
Required to drive the roadmap working closely with other product managers, engineering and a cross-functional team including product marketing, sales, partners, support, etc.
Managing a team of product managers responsible for the definition, development, and delivery of key product offerings within the DNS ecosystem
Capable of building and defending business plans to C-Suite executives
Capable of communicating the value of NSS' products to C-Suite executives
Both technically deep and business savvy to interface with all levels and disciplines within an organization, from engineers to executive leadership
Be the product voice within an agile product-development environment by delivering prioritized user stories and product requirements with corresponding justification
Experience collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data from disparate sources in order to drive conclusions and recommendations
Experience with Pragmatic Marketing framework a plus
Four-year college degree required in Business, Computer Science or Engineering, MBA a plus
Travel: Some travel required (20-25% of time)
