Summary of Position

Neustar Security Services (NSS) is looking for a Senior Director of Product Management who will bring extensive network and application security expertise to lead product management and accelerate growth for our application security services including our UltraDDoS Protect, UltraWAF and UltraBot offerings. These cloud security solutions help businesses analyze, identify, and filter out malicious network traffic and other threats to protect enterprises and their customers.  The candidate will develop and execute on a product strategy for the NSS application security services business managing all aspects of product design, implementation, and delivery. 

The ideal candidate will go beyond simply being a “product” person and will leverage their understanding of the enterprise security space and collaborate with our partners and engineering teams to produce new products in this space and continue to enhance our current offerings. 


Responsibilities

Assume end-to-end ownership of the process of research, design, development, delivery, and development of go to market plan for the NSS application security product lines. You will build products from existing capabilities and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and feedback from customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must have extensive market knowledge so that you can find innovative solutions for the broader market. 

 You must be able to communicate and influence all areas of the company. You will work with your engineering counterparts to define product release requirements and prioritize delivery. You will work with Professional Services to improve process, feature efficacy and customer quality. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers.


Develop product requirements and use cases (PRD) for new products and features 


Define market requirements (MRD) to describe the market opportunity for new products and features and gain executive buy-in on product strategy 


Coordinate with cross-functional engineering and operations resources to develop new products 


Identify minimal viable product sets when it comes feature enhancements/requests 


Coordinate pre-launch activities with sales and marketing 


Work with CSM/SE/sales/channel teams to identify and cultivate alpha/beta customers for new solutions. 


Drive key success metrics related to revenue generation using analytics 


Work with cross-functional teams to develop, refine and scale management and analytics procedures, systems, workflows, and best practices  

Qualifications

7-10 years of product management or related enterprise security experience; especially focused on bringing new products to market 

Passion for corporate cloud security - comfortable discussing requirements to create actionable data assets 

Experience working with cloud security products or platforms and in particular DDoS solutions 

Strong understanding of network and security architectures for Enterprise, Service Provider and Datacenter/Cloud customers. 

Interact with customers and prospects to define market requirements and translate these into product requirements.  Strong experience in customer facing roles, including requirements capture, product assessment and planning, and ongoing customer feedback 

Drive the roadmap working closely with other product managers, engineering and a cross-functional team including product marketing, sales, partners, support etc.

Be the product voice within an agile development environment by delivering prioritized user stories and product requirements with corresponding justification.

Both technically deep and business savvy to interface with all levels and disciplines within an organization, from engineers to senior leadership.

Flexible and resourceful, with a figure-it-out-and-get-it-done mentality; not afraid to make mistakes.

Being able to listen and truly hear feedback from customer, channel partners & internal constituents.
